TELAS Reviewer Certification workshop (online)

The Technology Enhanced Learning Accreditation Standards (TELAS) are a set of internationally benchmarked standards designed to assess the quality of online learning, particularly in relation to the tertiary sector. They provide institutions with the means to assess and evaluate the affordances of their online learning environments and thereby guide quality enhancements. For more information about TELAS visit our website.

Our workshop supports your knowledge of the standards and is the first step to being a certified TELAS reviewer. No matter what your role is at your institution you will find these workshops informative and interactive.

Our next workshop will be online in Zoom (split across two half days);

Dates: February 25th and 26th  (10am – 1.30pm AEDT)

Registrations close Thursday 20th February – Immediate payment would be required for registrations made this week.

AI, Education & Comedy—What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

The Peer Revue featuring Prof Jason Lodge
Where: Motley Bauhaus, 118 Elgin Street, Carlton
Date: Friday 21 February,
Time: 7pm

AI has landed in universities—ready or not. But is it revolutionizing education, or just the latest overhyped panic?

The Peer Revue is a monthly comedy show where researchers share their work with improvisers… who then turn it into laughter.

For their February show, they are joined by Professor Jason Lodge – 2024 ASCILITE keynote, former AJET editor, and lead author of the influential Assessment reform for the age of artificial intelligence document that TEQSA published. A chef by trade, a psychological scientist by training, and an educator by profession, Jason is a Professor of Educational Psychology at UQ.

Expect deep insights, big laughs, and maybe a few unsettling truths about the future of education.

 SoLAR LAK Proceedings Publishing: Input sort

Over the course of several months, the SoLAR Executive team with close collaboration from the JLA editors and LAK25 Program Chairs have been working to discuss the options for the future of the LAK proceedings publication.

SoLAR would like to encourage all of their members and LAK authors to read this options paper as it could impact the future of LAK proceedings publication. This options paper will be followed up by a survey to all SoLAR members, LAK authors, submitters and the broader Learning Analytics community as well to decipher which strategic direction is in the best interest of our community. Please help them encourage your colleagues to take part in this survey and the broader conversation that will take place in the coming weeks with a decision to be made at LAK25. For preliminary analysis and discussion – they encourage SoLAR members and authors to participate prior to February 19, 2025.
