TELedvisors Network webinar Assuring learning in the Age of AI
In this month’s TELedvisors Network webinar, we will explore responses to ensuring assurance of learning in tertiary education in the age of Generative AI
The Australian higher education sector is in the process of unprecedented transformation in response to a range of stressors, not least the juggernaut of generative AI platforms that go well beyond simple text generation to complete entire courses of study.
Third Space practitioners are at the intersection of this change, and our involvement is highly contextual, and in some cases contested, in different settings.
Join us to share and discuss your experiences as we collectively work to provide Assurance of Learning.
Among the topics for discussion:
2026 definitions of assured learning
What types of tasks do we design?
Who designs the assured task?
Who assures the task design?
We will be joined by Lenka Ucnik from TEQSA, Darci Taylor from Deakin University and Jacqueline Trebilco from Monash University
Lenka Ucnik is the acting Director of TEQSA’s Higher Education Integrity Unit, which is tasked with identifying and
Associate Professor Darci Taylor, SFHEA BASc(Hons), GCHE, GDipEd(Sec), PhD
Darci is an Associate Professor and Director, Learning Design at Deakin University. Darci leads a multi-disciplinary team and provides strategic, academic and operational leadership in curriculum and learning design to support the university’s strategic agenda. She leads university-wide projects to transform learning and teaching delivery aligned to Deakin’s values that support students to thrive. She was the academic lead for the CloudFirst Project that established Deakin’s approach to online learning, and the DeakinDesign Project that developed Deakin’s learning and teaching principles that underpin Deakin’s distinct model of digital education. More recently, Darci has led the project to develop Deakin’s Empowering-Developing-Assuring Assessment Framework to leverage the opportunities and challenges afforded by generative AI.
Darci is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and recipient of multiple Vice Chancellor’s Awards for Teaching and Learning Excellence. Her research interests explore barriers and enablers to student becoming and the impact of teaching transformations on staff.
Darci will be presenting Deakin’s Empowering-Developing-Assuring Assessment Framework and discuss taking a course-wide approach to assurance of learning.
Jacqueline Trebilco, Senior Manager, Education Development, Portfolio of the DVC Education, Monash University
