ASCILITE Publications first issue published!

The result of a new initiative from the ASCILITE Executive in 2021, ASCILITE Publications (https://publications.ascilite.org/index.php/APUB) has been officially launched. ASCILITE Publications provides a platform based upon the Open Journal System (OJS) for publishing the annual ASCILITE Conference proceedings, and creating a standardised peer-review system for the 2022 ASCILITE Conference submissions.  The ASCILITE Publications Executive team includes A/Prof Thomas Cochrane, A/Prof Michael Cowling, Prof Petrea Redmond and Adjunct A/Prof Mark Schier.

With the publication of our first full issue of APUBS – The 2019 ASCILITE Conference proceedings – we now have been officially registered with an ISSN 2653-665X and can assign DOIs to articles!

The ASCILITE Publications platform will eventually host the past 27 years of ASCILITE Conference proceedings, with registered DOIs for individual proceedings papers associated with a formal publication ISSN. ASCILITE Publications will also provide an avenue for mentoring ASCILITE members into the peer-reviewed publication process and provide opportunities for special collections of peer-reviewed, fully open access traditional and non-traditional publications in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in Australasia and abroad.

We aim to provide a scholarly distribution and publication pathway for these alternative forms of best practice and thought to traditional journal articles; increasing the reach and impact of TEL to international contributions and an audience beyond the academy. ASCILITE Publications encourages contributions and involvement from ECRs, including RHD candidates, practitioners and professional staff.

Please note that we recommend that media items be published using Figshare rather than ASCILITE Publications.
