Evonne Irwin is currently the Convenor of the Open Foundation (Online) enabling/pathways program at the University of Newcastle. Her presentation will be about professional identities, power/s and mis/recognitions of university workers who do not easily fit into academic/professional binary classifications: ‘third space professionals’.
Dr Natalia Veles (James Cook University) has extensive experience in higher education, vocational education and international education management. She has worked in strategic leadership positions worldwide, including Russia, China, New Zealand and Vietnam. She will present what motivates professional staff to work together with academic colleagues across various boundaries and what cross-boundary competences they view as critical in collaboration.
Which factors shape the way edvisors work in Higher Ed in Australia? With academics and managers? With each other? Colin Simpson (Monash University) is researching these factors, ranging from role types and classifications to what difference the name of your unit makes on how understood and valued you feel. Some of the data that emerged in a survey he undertook recently in the TELedvisors community.
Karin Barac (Griffith University) will present on her exploration of the intersection of context, pedagogy, and technology in Australian higher education academic coursework.
