ASCILITE 2019 Call for Papers Announced
ASCILITE warmly invites everyone with an interest in educational technologies in tertiary education to join us at the 36th International Conference on Innovation, Practice and Research in the Use of Educational Technologies in Tertiary Education Conference, hosted by the Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore, from 2 – 5 December 2019.
The Call for Papers is now open and we are inviting contributions describing critical perspectives on the use of educational technology under the themes and submission types outlined on the conference website here.

New TELall Blog Post on the World Conference on Online Learning
The latest TELall blog provides details of the 28th ICDE World Conference on Online Learning hosted by the National Institute for Digital Learning at Dublin City University. This is one of the most prestigious international conferences in our field and the organisers expect to welcome around 1,000 leading educators, researchers and policy-makers from around the world.
Final Reminder: The LA-SIG’s first webinar of 2019, 1 May 2019
The Learning Analytics SIG will be conducting its first webinar of the year on the ideas discussed in the blog above and how the field of learning analytics has developed over the years. Future directions and challenges will be addressed by the session’s presenter, Dr Cassandra Colvin from Charles Sturt University. Cassandra will overview the field of learning analytics, chronicling its development to date, and, through a series of provocations, challenge us to (re-) consider its future possibilities, particularly in light of our own professional contexts and disciplinary knowledge.
The webinar will take place on Wednesday 1 May at 11am AEST and you can register for this event here. You will then receive an email with the session logon. Pre-registration will also allow us to send you a brief reminder prior to the event.

Call for Papers – New Pacific Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning
This new journal is hosted by Auckland University of Technology with lead editors Dr Vickel Narayan and Dr Thomas Cochrane from the Centre for Learning And Teaching at AUT (cflat). The journal may be found here.
The journal aims to promote informed use of technology in learning and teaching—the scholarship of technology enhanced learning (SoTEL). In particular, empirical research that grows current understanding and application of the affordances of technology for improved pedagogical practice and student learning outcomes.
To provide new and emerging, as well as, experienced researchers an open access platform to share their findings and discourse. In particular, to build research capability locally by nurturing communities of practice (research clusters) and to provide equitable access to research and publications in the Pacific.
We would like to invite submissions for papers for publishing in our inaugural issue. Submissions are due 31 May 2019, with a publication timeline of July 2019.

Proposals Invited for Data Analytics Book Chapters
We would like to invite you to submit your proposal for an edited volume on “Adoption of Data Analytics in Higher Education Learning and Teaching” to be published by Springer, New York.
If you are interested to contribute to the book project, we are asking you to submit a 1-page proposal to Dirk Ifenthaler below by 15 May 2019, including author’s name (co-authors are welcome), affiliations, tentative title, chapter outline (max. 300 words), five keywords and key references. Early submissions are encouraged. All submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review who will recommend full submissions from among the proposals. Job Vacancy, Senior Learning Designer, University of Technology Sydney
UTS’s growing Learning Design team was established by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) in 2016 to pilot these new approaches to the postgraduate-by coursework learner experience. We are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Learning Designer to our team to provide leadership and support for teaching staff in developing and integrating digital learning strategies and resources into students’ learning experiences. The deadline for applications is 25 April 2019.
