Invitation to Provide Feedback on the Development of ASCILITE’s Online Learning Accreditation Framework
Over the past 18 months, ASCILITE has been working on conceptualizing an internationally benchmarked online learning accreditation scheme that will assess, certify and recognize the quality of online learning.
More information about this initiative is now available on the ASCILITE website.
To date the process of conceptualizing this scheme has been facilitated through several phases including 9 sector workshops held across Australasia and a National Summit with senior higher education leaders in online learning. The next phase of implementation is extensive stakeholder consultation, particularly with the goal of finalizing the Accreditation Framework, which will inform the assessment and certification of online learning. Members have been emailed an invitation to participate in this next stage by submitting an EOI to attend one of the consultative workshops. Feedback is also sought through the survey link below. For the EOIs, we are keen to receive applications from those with experience and expertise in online learning.
To this end ASCILITE would like to invite you to provide feedback by 30 July 2018 on the Accreditation Framework performance criteria via this survey link.

ASCILITE 2018 Call for Participation Reminder
Are you coming to ASCILITE 2018 from 25 to 28 November?
ASCILITE 2018 will be hosted by Deakin University and will be held at the university’s Waterfront Campus in Geelong which is located on Corio Bay, in the central business district of Geelong, about an hour’s drive west from the heart of Melbourne. Central Geelong offers a wide range of activities ranging from cultural, recreational and family friendly, and a diverse range of cuisine. Greater Geelong is also famous for excellent surf beaches and an amazing wine region with plenty of opportunities to visit local cellar doors and taste some great Australian wines on offer. Geelong is also the ‘gateway’ to Victoria’s ‘Great Ocean Road’. All great reasons to come and visit.
The call for participation is live and we are excited at the prospect of receiving your contribution.

ASCILITE Awards Call for Nominations Coming Soon with New Awards to be Announced
The ASCILITE Awards are expected to open for nominations in July with the Innovation award, Student Bursaries and the Life Member Award. We’ll also be announcing two exciting new awards at that time; the Emerging Scholar Award and a Community Fellowship Award so keep an eye out for those. In light of the two new awards, ASCILITE will be discontinuing the Fellow Award.
Expect to see full details on the ASCILITE website soon and in the member bulletin so it may be time to start thinking about your own nomination!

The Digital Equity SIG, which was established following interest at the ASCILITE 2017 Conference, has scheduled a series of online meetings to discuss all aspects of digital equity. The dates and times for the meetings are as follows:

We are now looking to appoint an experienced Learning Designer to our team to provide support for teaching staff in developing and integrating digital learning strategies and resources into students’ learning experiences.
In this role you will:
- create a range of technology enhanced learning interventions for a portfolio of programs and support delivery within time, quality and budget
- provide expert advice to colleagues and other partners to develop online learning strategies that supportthe UTS aim of enabling students to experience a seamless blend of online learning and face-to-face learning experiences in new on-campusspaces
- support the review and evaluation of the pedagogical effectiveness of products and services.
About You

The Transform Online Learning (TOL) Project is a key activity of the University’s 2017-2022 Student Strategy.
The project aims to ensure that CSU continues to maintain a sector leadership position through transformative innovations in quality assured online subject design, development and delivery.
The Director, Online Subject Development will report to the Pro Vice Chancellor, Learning and Teaching, with an overarching responsibility to lead online subject development within the TOL Project. During 2018-2020 the position will be seconded to the Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences (BJBS) to establish a Faculty embedded approach to re-design and development of existing online subjects working closely with the Sub-Dean (Transform Online). The Director, Online Subject Development will be responsible for creating ‘on-time’ and ‘on-budget’ systems, processes and practises for implementing the TOL Learning Experience Framework.
The Director, Online Subject Development will work closely with the Faculty Leadership Team, and the central TOL project team in the Division of Learning and Teaching.

This special themed issue 2019 of the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice (JUTLP) seeks to showcase innovative and progressive features of contemporary university online learning and teaching through illustrative case studies. Authors are invited to submit expressions of interest in the special issue in the form of extended abstracts of 350-400 words.
