ASCILITE April Webinar: AI-powered pedagogy: Exploring the effectiveness of Generative AI as a learning assistant in the ICT discipline

Mobile Learning SIG: SoTEL2025 virtual international Symposium

The SoTEL2025 virtual international Symposium on the Scholarship of Technology Enhanced Learning will be held 2nd May 2025 and launches a six-week Webinar Series of TEL Trendsetters from 9th May until 13th June. See the ASCILITE events calendar for the May and June dates.

Abstracts (500 words + references) for presentations for the virtual Symposium must be submitted (here) and will be double-blind peer-reviewed and published in  PJTEL (Pacific Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning).

Accepted presentations should be pre-recorded Pecha Kucha’s hosted on either Figshare.com or Pechakucha.com and will be embedded in a shared PADLET for viewing and discussion on 2nd May.

CMALT (Certified Membership of ALT) Week 2025

Date: 28 April – 2 May 2025

The CMALT Accreditation Framework offers pathways to peer-assessed accreditation for Learning Technology professionals both in the UK and internationally. It caters to professionals who are actively involved in understanding, managing, researching, supporting, or enabling learning through the use of Learning Technology.

The Association for Learning Technology (ALT) is running CMALT week – a group of activities and events dedicated to celebrating the CMALT Accreditation Framework,  supporting CMALT candidates and assessors, and welcoming new certified members.

TELAS Reviewer Certification workshop on campus at The University of Sydney – April 9

The Technology Enhanced Learning Accreditation Standards (TELAS) are a set of internationally benchmarked standards designed to assess the quality of online learning, particularly in relation to the tertiary sector. They provide institutions with the means to assess and evaluate the affordances of their online learning environments and thereby guide quality enhancements.

The next TELAS Reviewer Certification Workshop is now open for registration.
Location: The workshop will be conducted at The University of Sydney
Date: Wednesday April 9
Time: 9-4.30pm (AEST)
Cost: $385 (members);  $535 (non-members – includes 12 month ASCILITE membership fee). All incl. GST

Call for Proposals: Feedback Analytics in Education – Guiding Designs and Solutions

You are invited to submit your proposal for an edited volume on “Feedback Analytics in Education – Guiding Designs and Solutions” to be published by Springer, Cham (part of the book series Advances in Analytics for Learning and Teaching).

If you are interested in contributing to the book project, you are asked to submit a chapter proposal, including title, authors, affiliations, abstract describing the content of the chapter (max. 300 words), five keywords, three key references and a description of how the chapter fits the theme of the book, no later than 31 May 2025. All submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review, which will recommend full submissions from among the proposals. Accepted chapters shall not exceed 8,000 words (submission no later than 30 November 2025), including references, figures, and tables. Specific guidelines will be made available after 15 June 2025.

Please submit the chapter proposal no later than 31 March 2025 as a single PDF document including all required information using the online submission form here.

Invitation to Participate: A Doctoral Survey Study on Digital Technology in Authentic Assessment

Anjin Hu, a PhD student at the University of Otago, New Zealand, is researching tertiary educators’ use of digital technology in authentic assessment and is seeking input from educators who

  • Design and/or implement authentic assessments
  • Use digital technologies in these assessments

The study has been approved by the University of Otago Ethics Committee (Ref: D23/324).

This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your work, contribute to sector-wide conversations, and inspire your colleagues.

If you’ve been exploring new strategies, trialing technology-enhanced approaches, or refining your assessment and feedback practices, this is your chance to share your insights and influence tertiary learning and teaching practices. Whether you’re in VET or HE, we welcome presentations (30 minutes) from individuals or teams on practice-based innovations or research.
