Call for Participation: ASCILITE 2017 International Conference
ASCILITE warmly invites everyone with an interest in educational technologies in tertiary education to join us at the 34th International Conference on Innovation, Practice and Research in the Use of Educational Technologies in Tertiary Education (ASCILITE) Conference. hosted by the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, Australia from 4 – 6 December 2017.
The Call for Participation is now open and we are inviting contributions describing critical perspectives on the use of educational technology under the themes and submission types outlined on the conference website here.
ASCILITE 2017 is not just about papers. It’s about opportunities for engagement. This means the conference organizers are looking for a diverse range of session types. You get to choose the format that works best for your topic and if your preferred format is not listed in the Submission Guidelines, you are encouraged to email the conference organizers to discuss your ideas.

You are invited to read and comment on the latest post at ASCILITE's new TELall blog. The topic of this week's blog comes from Mark Northover, ASCILITE CMALT Chairperson.
In this post, Mark answers questions such as who should apply for CMALT, what does one need to do and what does one get for their CMALT.

2017 Community Mentoring Program Update
Applications for the 2017 Community Mentoring Program have now closed. In all, 23 mentor and mentee applications were received and these are now under review. Successful applicants will be notified next week at which time mentoring agreements will be established for the year.

This session was presented by Sally Brown, Independent consultant and Emerita Professor, Leeds Beckett University, UK. The webinar was aimed at those new to assessing in higher education. The covered matters including: Matching marks to criteria; Assuring standards; Ensuring inter-assessor and intra-assessor reliability; Effective Assessment design; and Giving effective feedback.
