The Conference Dinner theme has been announced

This year’s conference dinner theme is based around the number ‘42’ (this is the 42nd annual ASCILITE conference) and the final days of the University of South Australia.  The theme is “Restaurant at the end of the universe(ity)”. For those unfamiliar with the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy (in four parts) written by Douglas Adams, some ideas for costumes/outfits will be communicated on the conference website shortly. For those who are more into musical theatre than science fiction, 42nd Street may be more in line with your outfit choice. Feel free to pick from either stream and help us celebrate in style.

Executive Committee News

Please join us in offering a big welcome to Amanda White (UTS) and Justine Maldon (ECU) to the ASCILITE committee for the next two years. We are excited to get working with the new committee members to advance our many portfolios and work with our community. Amanda and Justine will formally join the executive from the 29th of November.

We also welcome longstanding member of the executive Thom Cochrane (Melbourne) back from being a co-opted member to an elected member.

Would you also join us in saying HUGE goodbyes and thank yous to outgoing members Sue Gregory (UNE), Hazel Jones (formerly Griffith University), and Kwong Nui Sim (CQU). Their combined 25 year presence on the committee will be sorely missed.

And finally, a huge “THANK YOU” to all the members that voted in the election.

OEP-SIG Needs your input: Help shape our understanding of OEP research underway across Australasia

Are you involved in research related to open educational practices (OEP)? Whether you’re conducting a major study or simply reviewing literature to inform your practice, your work matters – and we want to hear about it.

The OEP SIG Research Co-convenor has developed a short survey to help us better understand the scope and diversity of OEP-related research happening across Australasia. By sharing your activities, you’ll contribute to a clearer picture of the current research landscape and help foster stronger connections within the community.

No research-related activity is too small to share. Even a brief literature review or a reflective inquiry into practice can offer valuable insights.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help shape our collective understanding of Australasian OEP research.
