ASCILITE Spring into Excellence Research School

You are invited to join us at the 2024 ASCILITE research school.

The next School is planned for 28-30 October and will be hosted by UTS in Sydney.

Aims of the Research School
The aim of the ASCILITE Spring into Excellence Research School is to:

1. Provide support and guidance to participants in developing and progressing Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) research initiatives including but not limited to:
   – Formulating a relevant and effective TEL research project.
   – Collecting appropriate TEL research data.
   – Identifying what data is most appropriate for TEL research.
2. Assist participants to identify and plan a contemporary TEL research project.
3. Enable opportunities for participants to link with like-minded collaborators from other universities and potentially to establish viable cross-institutional research collaborations.
4. Guide participants in developing a grant application or research plan for a TEL research project. This would include both projects that have already been conceptualised as well as new projects that have not yet been conceived.

TELAS webinar recording: Mapping the TELAS framework to your institution’s technology ecosystems

With the development of the ASCILITE TELAS Framework there has emerged some benefit in mapping the standards to university technology ecosystems to ensure transparency for staff in enhancing course design. This webinar provided examples from two universities who have done this, Charles Darwin University, and the University of Sydney Business School.Presenters

Final Call for TELAS Reviewer Certification workshops (online)

The Technology Enhanced Learning Accreditation Standards (TELAS) are a set of internationally benchmarked standards designed to assess the quality of online learning, particularly in relation to the tertiary sector. They provide institutions with the means to assess and evaluate the affordances of their online learning environments and thereby guide quality enhancements. For more information about TELAS visit our website.Our workshop supports your knowledge of the standards and is the first step to being a certified TELAS reviewer. No matter what your role is at your institution you will find these workshops informative and interactive.

Final Call for AJET Associate Editor applications

Due date: 26th July 2024

We invite applications for new Associate Editors to join the existing editorial team of the Australasian Journal of Educational Technology (AJET). Associate Editors work with the Lead Editors to oversee the article review process and other work of the journal.This is a global call. EOIs from Associate Editors in all regions, including outside of Australasia are welcome. We are looking for experienced educational technology researchers with a well-established track record of high quality journal publications, preferably in the field of educational technologies in post-school contexts; a strong track record of reviewing articles for journals, preferably educational technology journals; excellent English language written communication skills; knowledgeable of a range of research methods; and with the time and commitment to dedicate to the role of an Associate Editor.

The upcoming ALT Annual Conference 2024 promises thought-provoking insights from distinguished speakers across three days with the overarching theme “Doing, reflecting, improving, collaborating”.

This year ALT are convening three keynote sessions fostering discussion around key issues:

• Imagining the Future of Education and Technology – Student Panel
