Objectives | Upon completion of the workshop, participants should be able to:

Audience | The workshop is intended for delegates who have a knowledge of educational computing and some experience with developing interactive applications, but who wish to develop an understanding of the opportunities inherent with online learning. The workshop is specifically designed to expose the educational features and structures of the Internet and World Wide Web which will affect the way in which interactive applications can be designed and developed. |
Duration | The workshop is designed as a three hour session. |
Content | The workshop will cover the following areas:

Format | The workshop will begin with an exposition of the features of online learning environments, followed by a presentation of simple case studies of its operation. With an emphasis on practical work, participants will then have the opportunity to implement a short prototype of interactive online learning environments. |
About the presenter | Rod Sims, Associate Professor of Educational Multimedia at Southern Cross University, has over 15 years experience in the design and development of interactive learning systems, and is currently implementing online learning environments for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has also presented workshops at EdMedia, Incite and ASCILITE conferences and conventions. |
