SUMMARY:TELedvisors SIG WA Meetup – Meeting the challenge of AI and assessment
DESCRIPTION:ECU Mt Lawley\, Perth\, WA \nIt’s a challenging time for assessment in higher education\, and third space practitioners are right in the middle of the action. New generative AI tools and capabilities are released on an almost weekly basis\, AI-related academic integrity cases are skyrocketing\, teaching staff are trying to ‘AI-proof’ their assessments\, and TEQSA requirements are instigating institution-wide curriculum reform. Institutions look to third space practitioners help shape the response\, supporting staff and students to navigate this complex and rapidly-evolving situation. \nIn the first-ever WA meetup of the TELedvisor’s SIG\, join colleagues from across institutions to share practical strategies and experience of meeting this challenge. Taking place in person only\, at ECU’s Mount Lawley campus\, the free event will feature pecha kuchas\, discussion\, and networking over a light lunch and refreshments. Find out how others are adapting learning design and assessments\, responding to academic integrity issues\, integrating new learning technologies and more. Connect with like-minded practitioners to help make sense of these changes and explore possibilities in a friendly collegial space. \nWho should attend?\nOpen to anyone working in technology-enhanced learning roles\, including learning design\, academic integrity\, edtech\, student support\, and academic development. \nPlaces are limited – register early.\nRegister on Humanitix. \nCall for Presenters:\nWe’re seeking Pecha Kucha presenters to share their practical experiences tackling AI and assessment.\nSubmit a pecha kucha proposal (Submissions close 16 June 2025)

SUMMARY:LA-SIG July Webinar: Unlocking Indicators of Learning in AI-Assisted Education
DESCRIPTION:  \nIntroducing the “Figuring out AI Learning Processes” Discovery Workshop Series presented by the Learning Analytics SIG \nIn three interactive online workshops\, educators\, researchers\, learning designers\, and developers will collectively explore how we can make learning visible and interpretable in AI-mediated environments. \nThis first workshop will focus on this critical question: What are the actual learning processes in AI-assisted environments? \n\nHow do we understand learning when it emerges from a dynamic interplay between the learner and an AI system?\n Are students passively absorbing content\, or actively regulating and negotiating their engagement?\nWhat new cognitive\, metacognitive\, and even epistemic skills are required to learn with AI?\n\nThe second workshop will explore the types of LA data available to educators and researchers in AI-supported environments and the third workshop in the series will focus on what we should be measuring. The series will conclude with a session at this year’s ASCILITE conference where we will present the findings from the online workshops and discuss how we can move the discussion forward in 2026. \nRegister your Interest here

SUMMARY:TELedvisors webinar - July 2025 Beyond Agile: Stop Iterating\, Start Prototyping
DESCRIPTION:  \nAgile project management has become the default in educational innovation\, but its iterative model often clashes with the fixed timelines and limited user feedback cycles of real-world education contexts. In contrast\, Rapid Prototyping offers a more responsive and pragmatic approach for Third Space teams\, emphasising quick experimentation\, structured decision points\, and early engagement with stakeholders. \nDr Nikolai Alksnis has extensive experience leading curriculum transformation and innovation across education. Drawing on engineering and software design principles\, he’ll show you how prototyping can be adapted for learning design\, curriculum innovation\, and student support tools. Nik will introduce a decision-based framework his team has used to scope\, prioritise\, and build prototypes that avoid waste while accelerating delivery. \nBy reframing your existing practices through a prototyping lens\, this session will help you deliver projects faster\, smarter\, and with greater space for innovation. \n  \nRegister here
