DESCRIPTION:Title: iLearn Insights – An application to facilitate data driven student interventions to increase student engagement \nDate & Time: 14 May 2020 1:00-2:00 pm AEST.   You will find session start times for other time zones here. \nAbstract: iLearn Insights allows teaching staff to easily visualise student activity in iLearn units. iLearn Insights provides a dashboard with visual representations of student data in relation to access patterns\, forum activity and learning activity submission and grading. Academics can then use the email messaging function to provide timely and well informed interventions to students who may be struggling with their studies as well as the opportunity provide extra motivation to students who are doing well. \nPresenter: Shamim Joarder has worked for various educational institutions since 2001. His eLearning journey began in 2009 working as an eLearning Project Manager at the University of Adelaide. Mr. Joarder currently works at Macquarie University\, Sydney as the Learning Technologies System Analyst\, where he has designed and developed an unique learning analytic application titled ‘iLearn insights’. He has also authored the book ‘Moodle eLearning Course Design: A Flexible Approach’. DESCRIPTION:In this webinar colleagues from QUT\, Griffith\, and UQ will present some of the the tools/technologies they have adopted at their universities and how they are used to facilitate learning and teaching.\n\nPresenters include:\n\n\nSharon Altena (SFHEA) – Senior Curriculum and Learning Designer\, Queensland University of Technology\nSharon is a Senior Curriculum and Learning Designer in the Curriculum Design Studio within the Digital Learning Portfolio at QUT. She will present innovative ways that the humble spreadsheet can be used as a simple and versatile tool by academic staff. Examples will include setting up permanent groups in Zoom\, importing questions for Blackboard exams\, and creating Flashcards in the Quizlet app.\nSally Kipling – Educational Designer\, Griffith University\nSally has been an Educational Designer in Griffith Online for four years. She will present how Microsoft Sway can be used to create engaging learning materials to enhance course content delivery and highlight the tools that can be embed in Sway for interactivity.\nAilsa Dickie – eLearning Program Manager\, The University of Queensland\nAilsa has been an elearning advisor and program manager at UQ for eight years. She will present on the organic adoption of Padlet at UQ over the last six years.
