There is never an ASCILITE Conference without a dinner dance! Our social person guarantees a night to remember, and the cost is included in the registration.
The dinner dance starts at 7:30 till late and the venue is the UniCentre's Main Hall. The image below hints at the Conference Dinner theme. See you there in your

 Thoughts of romantic nights under desert stars in lavish Bedouin tents will be yours at this year's ASCILITE dinner. but just when your senses are lulled and you see yourself drifting across the sands on a camel Shekel and Hide will come to the rescue. Shekel and Hide? Yes Shekel and Hide - our band for the night. The band is best described as Middle Eastern Funk and Groove. The music it plays comes from the Balkans, Asia Minor and the Middle Eastern Funk and is based on the marvellous variety of Belly Dance rhythms. This band makes folk music of this genre accessible to the audience and thoroughly dance-able. So be prepared to get off the camel, kick off your shoes and wiggle those hips (bellies??). Did we mention the colourful Middle Eastern dancers that (in the words of the band spokesperson) 'are beautiful in their presentation and lead the audience into a happy frenzy of dancing the night away'. You have been warned! |
