Abstract
The following is a document which authors submitting papers for the ASCILITE'95 conference should follow. The authors of this guide have taken the common approach of presenting the guidelines in the form of a paper, as if it were to be presented at the meeting. So if the reader has trouble following the directions he or she may directly refer to the way this document has been composed and laid out. Help in submission may also be gained by going to the ASCILITE'95 home page on the World Wide Web. The url for the home page is http://www.ascilite.org.au/ascilite95/info.html. When there, just click on the button "Submit a Paper". Good luck!

ASCILITE'95, guidelines, instructions to authors, proceedings, electronic format
1. Introduction
The ASCILITE'95 Proceedings will comprise papers of oral and poster sessions. They will be compiled as a slightly reduced A4 sized book and also made available electronically via the World Wide Web. To facilitate the production of this, we seek your co-operation in presenting us with your paper in an electronic form as close as possible to the format in which it will finally be produced. The desired format is indicated by this document. Microsoft Word templates containing the appropriate styles are available for Mac and PC from the ASCILITE'95 Home Page (http://www.ascilite.org.au/ascilite95/info.html). The proceedings will be produced using Microsoft Word 6 for Macintosh.
To help us prepare the proceedings in time for the conference, we must have your paper before September 1, 1995. Papers will be sent out for refereeing. Should any referees require changes to be made, your paper will be returned to you by October 2 with a requirement for a final paper to be re-submitted by October 13. This schedule is tight and will be adhered to strictly! Please present your paper according to the instructions in Table 1.

also acceptable. In each case, diagrams and pictures should be embedded in the
appropriate place relative to the text (not fixed to a location on the page). Please let us know the particular word processor that you used.
3. Format of Paper
Since the proceedings will be produced directly from your electronic submission,
